Participants: Key Irish stakeholders upon personal invitation, representatives of European Commission, umbrella public bodies obliged to retrofit (HSE, OPW, LAs, D/Education, D/FHERIS (HEA/ETB), Justice sector), construction sector, public and commercial banks/investment funds, energy suppliers obligated under Irelandβs EEOS, business support organisations, civil servants from key Government Departments, SEAI, NTMA etc.
Background: As part of the Sustainable Energy Investment Forums initiative (SEIF), the European Commission has been organising roundtables to enhance the capacity of and co-operation between public and private stakeholders and to promote large-scale investment programmes and financing schemes. The SEI Forums initiative has organised more than 30 events in 20 Member States since 2016; information on past and upcoming events can be found on the SEI Forums webpage.
The second national roundtable in Ireland aims to promote dialogue between the public sector and key stakeholders in the field of sustainable energy financing with regard to leveraging private finance for public sector retrofit.
The roundtable will devote a significant amount of time to discussions in working sessions and interaction between participants to discuss the selected topics in depth and to provide recommendations and specific actions to facilitate energy efficiency investment in Ireland.
