SocialWatt, a project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, aims to enable obligated parties under Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive across Europe to develop, adopt, test and spread innovative energy poverty schemes. More specifically, the project aims to enable energy suppliers and utilities to build their capacity and use tools developed within the framework of the project to effectively engage with their customers and implement schemes that aim to alleviate energy poverty. Energy efficiency interventions at the household level will be facilitated and the increased use of renewable energy will be fostered, by promoting innovative financing options.
